Practice Philosophy

I enjoy people and work to make treatment a safe, caring place. The best way to describe my practice philosophy is holistic. I believe in valuing all aspects of a person’s needs- psychological, physical, spiritual and social. I believe in the uniqueness of every person and I experience a unique fit with each patient. I believe in a tailored treatment plan, customized to fit an individual’s needs. One size does not fit all. That being said, I do ascribe to a psychoanalytic mode of thinking; I hope that an experiential process arising in our relationship will inform you about maladaptive patterns occurring in your life, making way for change. My relationship with each person is more important to me than the theory or techniques I employ. My working theory is wide, eclectic and integrative, to include: object relations theory, attachment theory, developmental theory, ego psychology, self-psychology, drive theory, both Freud and Jung’s ideas, and more.
